Policies
Safeguarding, complaints, terms and conditions, and cancellation policy for Mind Beyond Hypnotherapy.

Safeguarding Policy
I am committed to the safety and wellbeing of all clients, particularly children, young people, and vulnerable adults. This policy sets out my approach to safeguarding as a sole student practitioner.
Scope
This policy applies to all hypnotherapy sessions I conduct as part of my case-study practice. I hold relevant safeguarding training and am committed to maintaining and updating that knowledge throughout my training and beyond.
Recognising and responding to concerns
If during a session I become aware of information that suggests a client or another person may be at risk of serious harm, I have a duty to act. This may include seeking guidance from my training supervisor and, where required, making a referral to appropriate statutory services. Where possible, I will discuss this with the client first, unless doing so would place the client or another person at greater risk.
Limits of confidentiality
Confidentiality is not absolute. I will explain the limits of confidentiality before therapy begins. Disclosures that indicate a risk of serious harm to the client or another person, or that involve a legal obligation to report, may require sharing information with appropriate authorities without the client's consent.
Working with minors
Sessions with clients under the age of 18 require the written consent of a parent or legal guardian. A parent or guardian must be present for the initial consultation. I will not conduct sessions with minors without appropriate consent arrangements in place.
Professional support
Sessions are conducted privately between you and me. As a student practitioner, I have access to professional supervision and tutor support through my training, and I can seek professional guidance regarding my practice or any concerns that arise, while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with professional, ethical, and safeguarding requirements.
Complaints Procedure
I am committed to providing a professional and ethical service. If you are unhappy with any aspect of the service you have received, please follow the procedure below.
Contact me directly
In the first instance, please contact me, Maria, by email at [email protected], setting out the nature of your concern. I will acknowledge all complaints within 5 working days and aim to provide a full response within 28 days.
If you remain dissatisfied
If you are not satisfied with my response, I will provide you with information about the appropriate next stage available to you. As a student practitioner, this may include a route through my training provider, Evolve Life Coaching College, or through my professional supervision arrangements. The correct independent complaints route for a student practitioner is being confirmed with Evolve Life Coaching College and will be updated here once verified.
Terms & Conditions
Please read these terms carefully before booking a session. By booking, you confirm that you have read and agree to them.
Sessions and fees
Sessions are currently offered at a reduced case-study rate. The fee applicable to your session will be confirmed at the time of booking. Payment is required in advance of your session unless otherwise agreed.
Distance contracts and your right to cancel
Where a session is booked online or by email (a distance contract), you have the right to cancel within 14 days of booking without giving a reason, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. If you ask me to begin the service within that 14-day period and then cancel, you may be charged for the portion of the service already provided. By requesting a session date within 14 days of booking, you acknowledge this and agree that your cancellation right is limited accordingly.
Cancellation and rescheduling
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least 48 hours' notice by email. Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice may be charged at 50% of the session fee. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice, or non-attendance without notice, may be charged at the full session fee. I will always try to be reasonable where genuine emergencies arise.
Suitability and medical conditions
Hypnotherapy is not a substitute for medical or psychiatric treatment. If you have a diagnosed medical or mental health condition, you are responsible for informing your GP or treating clinician that you are undertaking hypnotherapy. I reserve the right to decline or discontinue sessions where it is not considered appropriate or safe to proceed.
No guarantees
Hypnotherapy may be helpful for a wide range of issues, but outcomes cannot be guaranteed. Results vary between individuals and depend on a range of factors including your engagement with the process. Nothing on this website or in any session constitutes a guarantee of a specific outcome.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
